Ashley White, NCTMB, RM - Founder and director of Georgia Academy of MassageDirector-Ashley White, NCTMB, RM,  LMT: The founder and director of Georgia Academy of Massage is Ashley Landrum White.  She graduated summa cum laude from Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina in 1996 with a BFA degree in Dance Performance and Choreography.  After performing and teaching for several years, she became interested in healthcare and attended nursing school at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Ashley realized, two years into nursing school, that her true interests and desires lay in a more natural, holistic approach to healing.

Ashley began to study Reiki at the Carolina Reiki Institute. Practicing Reiki led her to an interest in massage. In 2002, she graduated from massage school, and in 2004 she became a Reiki Master. She loves and believes in her work so much, that opening a school to help others do the same seemed the next logical step.

Educational Director-Amy (AJ) Pollock, NCTMB

Educational Director-Amy (AJ) Pollock, NCTMB,  LMT: AJ Pollock brings a wealth of knowledge to the program, with over eighteen years of professional experience, six of which has been running her own successful massage practice, Hand Over Stress. She is trained in Neuromuscular Therapy, Orthopedic & Pain Management, and Structural Integration. AJ is a nationally certified massage therapist who specializes in TMJD, Deep Tissue and Prenatal Massage.

Assistant Director-Heather Parker, LMT, NCTMB, RM: Heather graduated from the University of South Carolina with a double major in Marketing and Management.  Her passions however were discovered in her later studies of the human energy system and the mind-body connection.  She has been studying Eastern traditions and philosophy of the healing arts for many years and is a certified and practicing Usui Reiki Master/Teacher.  Heather has also studied Healing Touch which is a biofield therapy that is an energy-based approach to health and healing.  Continuing her education in the healing arts, Heather attended Massage therapy school at Georgia Academy of Massage and is a Licensed & Nationally Certified Massage Therapist.  Heather combines her skills in Marketing and Business with her passion for healing in her position at Georgia Academy.


Kathleen Berry, BSN, RN: Kitty graduated from Fairfield University in 1976 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She joined the US Air Force in 1978 and served as an RN until late 1983.  As a civilian, she was Director of an outpatient drug and alcohol center in Wiesbaden Germany, until she served in the US Army from 1988-1993.  Separated from the Army as a Major, Kitty has now worked at Eisenhower Army Medical Center since 1993. She attended Georgia Academy of Massage in the Fall 0f 2006 and graduated Valedictorian. She applies her love of medicine, the human body, and massage when she teaches Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology


GroomJennifer Croom, NCTMB, LMT:
Jenny is a
Georgia licensed massage therapist who has been working in the Augusta area for three years. Jenny is know for her Neuromuscular Therapy, particularly her trigger point work.  She is currently employed as a massage therapist at Georgia Therapeutic Massage, LLC, and she teaches Neuromuscular, Swedish, and Chair massage and is a clinic supervisor.

Vickie Goss, LMT: Vickie one of our Spa technique instructors, actually began her professional life in the U.S. Navy where she studied Logistics Management and Security.  After her honorable discharge in January 2003, she went in the entirely different direction of massage therapy. She began her massage therapy career at Tuscany, A Classic Italian Spa and then moved on to the Ritz Carlton at Lake Oconee, where she has been on staff since December 2005.  In 2007 Vickie also went to Esthetics school and is now a licensed esthetician as well as being a licensed massage therapist.


Leslie Tirzah Saxton, LMT: Leslie is a clinical massage therapist with nearly 10 years of massage therapy experience.  Her primary focus has been providing massage therapy in support of local chiropractors and osteopathic physicians. A 1998 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Therapeutic Massage, Leslie passed the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in 1999.  Her professional career clientele include athletes at The Georgia Games in Atlanta, Georgia as well as worker’s compensation patients at Hitchcock Healthcare in Aiken, South Carolina.  An IAIM® (International Association of Infant Massage) Certified Infant Massage Instructor since 2006, Leslie teaches parents and primary caregivers the art of infant massage.  Leslie enjoys teaching and shares her knowledge of low back pain assessment techniques and her Russian Massage Curriculum with students at Georgia Academy of Massage.


Beverly Sumner, NCBMT, LMT: Beverly Sumner holds a national certification as well as professional licenses in Georgia and Oregon. She is owner of Altair Therapeutic Massage in Salem, Oregon, and has been in practice since 2002. A practitioner of Japanese Restorative Therapy, a vigorous deep tissue
massage based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, her practice specializes in the
treatment of chronic pain and postural realignment. Beverly and her husband are Instructors for Oregon School of Massage and Continuing Education Providers in the State of Oregon. She teaches Introduction to Japanese Restorative Therapy, Introduction to Traditional Chinese
Medicine, and Active Isolated Stretching. She and her husband have created a new massage modality, Active Isolated Resistive Stretching (AIRS). This new modality is currently available to the public and will soon be taught both nationally and internationally.

Rosemarie Brummett, NCTMB, RMRosemarie Brummett, NCTMB, RM,  LMT: In 1999, Rosemarie decided she wanted to study Aromatherapy.  She was living in England, where only massage therapists were allowed to take such courses.  She decided to study both massage therapy and Aromatherapy, along with Reiki. She is now a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, an Aromatherapy expert, and a Reiki Master.  Her passion to help others attain optimum health and well-being is what drives her career and gives her the most satisfaction.


Barry Eackloff, LMTBarry Eackloff, LMT: Barry graduated from the Swedish Institute School of Massage in Manhattan, N.Y. in 1994. That same year he began working for a Physician's group on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, specializing in serious, chronic soft tissue injuries. In 1998 Barry moved to Augusta Ga., and began working for University Hospital both in their fitness facility Health Central, and the main hospital itself. He pioneered the massage therapy program for the hospital, and has worked in all of it's departments. His practice would be best described as  shiatsu/medical massage fusion.


Jennifer Hartley, NCTMB, LMT: Jennifer graduated from massage school in 2004. She is trained in Myofascial Release, Sports/Orthopedic Massage, Neuromuscular and Swedish Massage. She is also a writer and was featured in the August/September 2005 issue of “Massage and Bodywork Magazine” chronicling her true passion-Burn Scar Massage Therapy. Jen, a burn survivor herself, saw the need for massage at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, GA. “I wanted to do something for the burn survivors to relieve pain and discomfort-not cause it. For a burn survivor, touch is the one thing they fear, but desire the most.” In addition to Burn Scar Massage Therapy, Jen also teaches Business and Chair Massage and is a Clinic Supervisor.


Jennifer Simpson-Green, NCTMB, LMT:L Jennifer is an Internationally Certified Neuromuscular Therapist, Fitness Therapist/Trainer and Certified Medical Transcriptionist.  She has an extremely diverse background and recently joined our team to teach Business, Insurance Billing and Stretching.  Jennifer graduated in 2003 from Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy, however she has had a background in massage since 1993.  Jennifer is a U.S. Army Veteran and has her degree in Business Management with an understudy in Accounting from the University of Maryland.  Jennifer owns and operates CSRA Neuromuscular Massage in New Life Natural Foods and teams with Dr. Henk de Graaf, DC to perform Chiropractic Care, Kinesiology, Cold Laser Therapy and Muscle Testing.  Jennifer also has a strong sense of volunteerism and currently serves our local AMTA group.  Her past titles are that of AMTA GA Chapter Public Relations Chair, Education Chair and Hospitality Coordinator for the 2006 AMTA National Convention in Atlanta.


Kim Wood -  Nationally Certified Massage TherapistKim Wood, NCTMB,  LMT: Kim is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist who has been successfully engaged in massage since 2003.  She has nearly 20 years of professional experience, and has always enjoyed public speaking and group instruction. Kim has trained with some of the top massage instructors in the nation and is proficient in Structural Integration and Neuromuscular Therapy. She particularly enjoys utilizing Orthopedic & Pain Management techniques. She instructs in these areas, as well as Lomi Lomi and spa practices.
